Albert Lawyer currently resides in Savannah, Georgia. He has been a fixture in the gospel music arena for years. Lawyer has held the role of lead guitarist for his fathers’ quartet. Throughout his musical career, Lawyer has accompanied many local groups. Being a seasoned lead guitarist, Lawyer is a true master of his craft. He has been a member of One Sound since its conception in 2008. |

W. Anthony Jones, II was born in Savannah, Georgia and learned to love music through church services. He began practicing drums and writing songs as a child. The first job Jones received was at age ten playing drums at Saint Paul C.M.E Church in Savannah. Jones studied music diligently during his teenage years, teaching himself to play the keyboard, and organ. Drawn to a music career while a high school student, he continued playing with various churches and projects. Living Hope Community Church and Jesus First Christian Community Fellowship were the first churches where Jones started playing the piano in 2003. |

RaSheed Akbar, the Sax player grew up in Savannah, Georgia. At age nineteen, he began teaching himself how to play the saxophone. Akbar has performed in and around the Savannah Georgia area with Teddy Adams, Hucksie Scott and the world renowned bassist, Mr. Ben Tucker. As a union musician, he performed in show bands for Bob Hope, Liberache, Kay Star, Freda Payne, Frank Gorswhin, Buddy Greco, and the Barnum and Bailey Circus. He moved to New Orleans in the early 1980’s where he attended Southern University in New Orleans. Akbar’s playing skills improved rapidly and music became his livelihood. He lived in New Orleans for nearly 30 years playing and traveling the world as an accomplished saxophonist. The Café’ DuMond, The Willie Metcalf’s Academy of Black Arts Big Band, and The Improvisational Arts Council The New Orleans Jazz Ramblers are a few. Akbar’s talent has afforded him the opportunity to travel the world and perform in cities located in West Africa, Kuwait, Doha, Casablanca, Morocco, and Egypt, where is affectionately known as “The Ambassador of New Orleans”. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Akbar and his wife made the decision in May 2007 to return to Savannah, Georgia. |
